IDEAS WORTH MAKING · ROOTED IN WALES
There’s more here
than meets the eye.
We turn overlooked ideas, materials and opportunities into useful products, services and ventures.
Ask us to explore an ideaHave a waste material that could be repurposed?
Let’s look at what it could become.
A material that’s finished one job. An idea that hasn’t found its moment. A problem waiting for a better answer.
IoHu starts by looking again. We explore the potential others might pass by, then develop the strongest possibilities into something useful.
Some ideas become products. Others become services, collaborations or new ventures. The common thread is practical value.
Interesting is a starting point. Useful is the goal.
Find an overlooked resource, an unmet need or a better way to do something.
Explore the possibilities. Build a prototype. Put the idea into people’s hands.
Listen to users, understand the costs and test whether it earns a place in the real world.
One overlooked material.
A new job to do.
Industrial straps can finish their original job while still holding potential as a material.
Load Series explores how that potential could become practical carrying and storage products. The next step is a focused product, tested with real users and developed with the right production partners.
We’re exploring carrying and storage concepts, including the Stacker and Sling. These are development directions, with the first product still to be validated.
The priorities: material suitability, everyday usefulness, durability, production costs and a clear first market.
Good ideas should create more than a good product.
We look for ways to work with local social enterprises to turn promising ideas into practical solutions. Depending on the project, that could involve prototyping, preparing materials, making, finishing or packaging.
These partnerships should create fairly paid work and help build skills and confidence, while making better use of resources. We want commercial success to help social enterprises sustain their work, with a share of future profits supporting social and environmental causes.
Overlooked potential isn’t only found in materials. It’s found in people, too.
IoHu is being built as a neurodiversity-friendly company, where different ways of thinking, communicating and solving problems are valued.
We want people to be able to contribute without having to fit one way of working. That means listening to individual needs and making practical adjustments together.
Tell us what helps you work at your best. Email is a welcome way to start.
Ask us to explore an idea. You don’t need a finished plan—just a material, a problem or a possibility worth a closer look.
Tell us what it is, roughly how much there is, where it’s located and whether it’s a one-off or a regular supply. A few photographs can help us understand the opportunity.
Surplus, offcuts or waste materials that might have another useful life.
Social enterprises, makers and production partners interested in developing practical solutions together.
Honest feedback from people who could use what we’re developing.
Let’s see what’s possible.
hello@iohu.co.ukWe’ll start by understanding the material or idea and discussing whether there’s a useful route forward.
